Seasonal Flu Vaccination

Due to the impact of Covid, now more than ever it is extremely important that all eligible patients receive their flu vaccination.

To deliver this as efficiently as possible and reduce the impact on our core services, the Ammonite Health Partnership will be holding a series of Saturday mass vaccination clinics.

These will be held at Bridport Medical Centre. The clinics will be run along the same lines as the covid vaccination clinics meaning we can safely vaccinate approximately 2,000 patients per day.

Initially we will be sending out text invites to specific groups of patients. The text message will contain a link which enables you to book your appointment. On receipt of the invite, patients who do not have a smart phone or if the link fails to work can call the practice they are registered with to book their appointment.

Please DO NOT attempt to book until you receive an invitation from us.

If you are unable to travel to Bridport Medical Centre, we will be setting up local vaccination sessions at our Tunnel Road, Beaminster and Maiden Newton surgeries (dates to be confirmed). We will shortly be confirming plans for those patients who are unable to leave their home.

Our first vaccination clinic: Sat 18th Sept at Bridport Medical Centre

This clinic is by invitation only and for pre-booked patients aged over 65 years.

Logistics

The large number of vaccinations (approx. 2,000 per day) poses a huge logistical challenge within the medical centre, with car parking at the medical centre and traffic in the surrounding roads.

On clinic days, the team will do their best to keep things moving but request that if possible you avoid West Allington and West Road as queueing traffic is expected.

Parking

Parking at the medical centre is extremely limited and will be STRICTLY allocated to BLUE BADGE holders.

Arrival

Those attending should please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to their appointment time.

Please wear a mask when in the building.

The vaccinating teams and marshals will do everything they can to minimise wait times, but queues do sometimes build up outside; even if a dry day is forecast, be prepared and wear suitable clothing and footwear to protect against cold and wet weather.

We now have a proven system that avoids the build-up of queues, but it only takes one or two small glitches for queues to quickly start building. For this reason, please follow any instructions given, thank you.
