Covid Outbreak in Ammonite

BACK TO MAIN INDEX

Coronavirus

We have been lucky up till now to have avoided a Covid outbreak in Ammonite. We knew we could have an issue at some point and we now have a number of staff either Covid positive or symptomatic/awaiting PCR results.

The cases are not connected; they appear to be household transmission/via schools rather than colleague-to-colleague (a “cluster” rather than an “outbreak”) but we have lost GPs, nurses, reception and dispensary colleagues.

We are managing the situation on a daily basis and moving clinical and non-clinical staff across to other sites to ensure we can continue to provide a service.

Where colleagues are well, but required to follow self-isolation guidance, they will be set up to work remotely. We have limited access to laptops and these will be allocated to critical staff colleagues as a priority (GP, ANP, specialist nurses).

We are managing the situation on a daily basis and moving clinical and non-clinical staff across to other sites to ensure we can continue to provide a service.

Phone calls will be handled at our main site for the foreseeable.

Please bear with us. This comes at a time where we are struggling to recruit. Please consider alternatives (self-care/pharmacy) before requesting to access a GP.

Thank you for your understanding.
