Book Appointments using an SMS Text Message or Email

Save time and book online

For certain types of clinics, such as LTC reviews and vaccinations, you can now book appointments via a link sent to your mobile phone or email address without have to telephone the surgery.

When you click on the link included in the message, you will be asked a security question to verify who you are. You will then be taken to a web page where you can look at available appointment slots for the time period and site you are interested in.

To start receiving this type of communication, you will need to register to receive information by text message or email. Please click the button below and use the administrative option within eConsult to update your contact details and inform the practice you would like to recieve information by SMS or email.

This has the added benefit of freeing up the telephone lines for other patients who do not have access to a phone or email, the more vulnerable and elderly.

New data protection regulations from May 2018 (GDPR)

Under the new data protection regulations introduced from 25th May 2018, we will continue to contact patients via text messages regarding the delivery of care if they have provided consent to do so.

Where practices are sending messages about recommended treatment for the management of a specific health issue, this is defined as providing appropriate care for patients, not marketing purposes.
